We are wanderlusters, constantly inspired by a deep love of travel! Radiate Love was designed to be the perfect piece for all your adventures, both local and far away. Created collaboratively with artist Leslie Love, it was built by layering two different paintings together, with the rays of the sun being added in later. Of her process with the piece, Leslie says, “When I was done, I remembered more of what I know. I have been to Guatemala, and Honduras. And when I looked again, I recall driving through BC and Alberta, Milk River and the Badlands, big skies, sagebrush. You don’t need to know all that to get an emotional response to the work, but I like to share the road I travelled to get here.” The beautiful washed colours on this kimono feel sun-faded and worn in, like a treasured piece that has travelled the world.

The inspiration:
She was born with a suitcase
full of stars. Fingers like feathers,
hair tangled in the wind of a fast car.
She has seen the sun come up
in wooded places, carved
her name in a tree there. And in the desert
she spelled the letters out with stones
left behind like breadcrumbs.
Her veins are like roadways
seen from airplane windows, her heart
torn in one country, then healed
in the next. She has wandered through ruins,
stood in the doorways of kings.
Made mixtapes and lost them
in gas station bathrooms, given away
her favourite jacket
like an offering to the sea. A prayer
for warm days, fish and chips.
Candles burning in churches,
clover at the side of the road.
