Inspired by the traditional French shift, or “chemise”, our Artist Dress is a romantic and painterly piece that’s endlessly versatile. Whether worn as a simple, lightweight dress in the summer, or layered up with tights and boots as a long tunic in the fall, it’s both effortless and adorable! We absolutely love it paired with the matching Artist Pants for a bohemian look, but we encourage you to get creative by mixing it with other pieces in your wardrobe too! Try layering it over a wide leg pant and adding the matching scarf for an expressionist vibe, or pair it with a cozy sweater and sneakers. However you wear it, we hope it brings out your inner artist.
Revel in the warmth of Fleur de Soleil, our ode to the golden hours when the sun lingers and the world slows to a dreamy hush. This print was born from an archive of antique beauty: 1891 watercolour and graphite studies of magnolia blossoms originally drawn for Tiffany & Co., Victorian lithographs of ripe peaches glowing like tiny suns, and a whimsical 1830 sketch of an imagined fountain and garden pavilion where one might spend an endless afternoon. Moths and butterflies flit along its edges, borrowed from early 19th-century insect encyclopedias, their delicate wings a whisper of transformation and flight. Rendered in soft washes of peach, coral, sage, and sun-warmed tan, Fleur de Soleil feels like the memory of a perfect day. It carries the charm of a secret garden, the sweetness of fruit warmed by the sun, and the serene beauty of a place where time is measured only by the drifting of butterflies and the clinking of glasses filled with sweet tea.
Please note: The nature of our soft bamboo/wood viscose means it’s slightly sheer, so we recommend a full or half-slip with this style when wearing it with bare legs.
